THE 8TH ANNUAL IBAU CONFERENCE

The conference will be a three-dayconference scheduled for 22nd to 24 th April 2026.The primary objective is to;

1. To reflect on key achievements, challenges, prospects and trends shaping uptake of insurance by MSMEs, informal Sector and Retail market within the region.

2. Foster industry collaboration and networking among different sector players in liaison withkeypolicy makers within Uganda’s key sectors and how they interact to grow insurance uptake among MSMEs, informal sector and retail market.

3. Provide a platform for stakeholders to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions to drive insurance uptake for the informal and retail sector.

4. Addressing Regulatory and industrial challenges and emerging trends aimed at making it easy to acquire and to sensitize the informal sector to acquireat least1 insurancepolicy.

5. To create a platform for practitioners and experts from the insurance industry, business fraternity, government, local and regional community to interact and share practical experiences on the opportunities and challenges they have experienced in growing this GWP segment.

6. To highlight Uganda’s rich tourism potential and its unique attractions, exploring opportunities for insurers to develop innovative insurance solutions to cater for the tourism sector. Theconferenceis expectedto attractover300 delegates.

The Theme of the conference is “Trust Re-imagined: Delivering on the Promise.' Uganda's insurance landscape often prioritizes corporate clients, leaving MSMEs and individuals vulnerable. Rebuilding trust requires bridging the gap. Uganda's insurers must shift focus to deliver on the promise of protection for all, ensuring MSMEs and individuals access affordable, relevant insurance solutions tailored to their specific needs.
